  1. I really like the converse ones, the detail and lighting are great. I like how it represents you.

I like the ones with the mints, I like the lighting and composition for the 3rd and last in that series. I think you could push that further and make more narratives with that. It is funny!

  2. I love the idea of representing your identity with an object. I think that is a great concept and could create an interesting series with other objects, too. I really like that they are in black and white and the strong contrast.

The other images have an interesting narrative and you can tell it is a constructed scene and it is trying to say something.

  3. I like the close-up of the shoes a lot. I think it is a great idea to do more close-ups like these. They show a lot of character and personality, and I think that would be cool to see with other shoes as well.

  4. I think the ones with the mints are really cute and creative, but I think the last one would be a lot better if you couldn't see the printing on the one on the left. I also like how most of them are in black and white because it makes them seem kind of like newspaper pictures of a robbery in progress. (That's what's going on in the picture, right?)

  5. I love the shoe ideas. I think that a series on your shoes would be really interesting!

The images with the candy was hard to understand until you had explained it. Maybe getting a hold of some army men and appropriating their arms for use in these would work better.

    Very nice, love the shoes!

  6. I agree, the top two are interesting and have great personality, which make it a successful way to represent an identity.
I like the colored photo with the mints a little bit more because it is clearer to see what is going on. I'd like to see the other mint photos in color to see how it changes how it is conveyed.

  7. I think both ideas are really strong. I like the shoes, you can tell a lot about a person by their shoes. What if you took "portraits" of some of your friends by taking photos of their shoes? That could be really interesting. I also like the constructed scene you made with the mints...you could take it further by maybe making them act out the scene. Good work so far!

  8. I really like the converse picture. I love the dirt and you can really tell that this item is loved and worn all the time. I like the picture with the mints in color..it makes for a really interesting and successful photograph. I think that by playing around more with the mints you could get some really great shots

  9. I love the colored one.. I think the choice of a black background was great. Also I like the ones with the shoes, the details were showing clearly which helped to show your concept.

  10. it seems that you are making subtle constructions with your shoes. how can you convey subtleties of your identity by slight changes to the shoes such as the laces or the way they are placed next to one another? it seems that we personify them when you get close to them and aggrandize (not a word:) them by capturing them this way.

i like the use of everyday things to convey pop-culture representations of violence. interesting idea to push further. the scene taken from above looks like a tv still due to lighting and angle.
