For this project we were asked to recreate a memory. My mind is constantly full of memories and times I have shared with friends and family in the past so how was I supposed to represent that all in one image? First, I knew I had to narrow it down. Narrow down my memories and narrow down what I wanted to portray as a memory I just couldn't kick. So I started thinking about my childhood and you can ask every person who knew me as a child because I was obsessed. Kool-Aid. Kool-Aid is the definition of my childhood. I couldn't live a day without the stuff. It was a horrible horrible addiction. I was banned from it during the winter months because of my unhealthy reliance on pure sugar and water so once those summer months rolled around I was physically unable to stop. Often times I would even eat the powder if things got desperate.

For this photo I wanted the emphasis to be on the cup and on the Kool-Aid. While the figure in the background plays a purpose, she is in the background for a reason The emphasis and whole point of this photo is the Kool-Aid so I wanted to make sure that came across. While the Kool-Aid does play a central role in the photo I wanted the cup to be displayed as well because without the cup there would be no drinking of the Kool-Aid :). Contrast was also important because I wanted the harsh contrast of the lights and darks to highlight the important aspects of the photo.
