Emile Zola was born April 12, 1840 and lived a very filling life. In his early life Zola was a political journalist and later began writing for literary journals and art reviews. Several short stories, essays, four plays, and three novels later Zola eventually developed immense wealth and became a figurehead among the literary bourgeoisie and organized dinners for cultured leaders.
A Restaurant Taken from the First Floor on Staircase of Eiffel Tower was taken in the year 1990. At this time Zola's interest in photography appealed to the interest of spontaneous and informal. He was into small, hand-held, single lens photos. He preferred high horizons and somewhat blurred images. This picture was an organization of space. It presented intriguing pattern of architecture and human figures. This picture we would soon learn was foreshadowing the immense fascination with spatial enigmas that would be explored in the 1910-1920's.
Zola died September 29, 1902 but left behind a legacy.
He left his art his influences his ideals.
Personally I love this photo. It inspires me. It makes me want to dream big and go for what I have always wanted. Don't stop climbing and don't look down until you are at the top. The framing is beautiful and spontaneous. It almost looks like a candid picture and candid photos are my absolute favorite pictures to take and view. The framing is beautiful with the scenery down below while at the same time capturing the tips of the tower. The emphasis is on everything in this photo and I appreciate the commotion it represents.
